The Mountain State or simply West Virginia is an American state situated in the Appalachian region. Its nickname comes naturally as West Virginia is the only state in the USA located only on mountain chain. People here are warm and hospitable and there are plenty of excellent options for memorable holidays in all the variety of comfortable vacation homes.

The first thing you notice will be the immense natural beauty, mountain landscapes as if they were made for a postal card. Some of the best trails to discover this natural allure are the Midland trail, the Highland Scenic Highway and the Coal Heritage. Don’t miss the Blackwater Falls state park with its spectacular black waterfalls. The water has gained such colour due to tannic acid but it has been a major tourist attraction. The region around is really picturesque and there are comfortable vacation home rentals offering all you need for your family holidays.

Touring around West Virginia must feature some of the following cities as they have a lot to offer and excite you with. Start with the Harpers Ferry where you can visit a historic park dedicated to the Civil War. Don’t miss the Charles town which was founded by the brother of George Washington and is a historic site in West Virginia.
